Families turn out for 30th annual Rainbow Singers

There was plenty of nostalgia to go around at this year’s Rainbow Singers concert, with past alumni invited on stage to sing along at the end of the night.

The choir program featuring fourth- and fifth-graders from all 10 Port Huron Schools elementary buildings marked its 30th annual concert Thursday in the performing arts center at Port Huron High School.

Wearing matching 2015 Rainbow Singers shirts, 74 boys and girls sang about pizza, dogs and snowflakes, as well as weightier songs such as “Peace in Twelve Languages.” Some of them fidgeted. Some of them made faces. But they had fun doing it.
