Announcements for 3/03/2023

 Lacrosse is moving the meeting scheduled for tonight to Tuesday March 7th 3-4 pm in the media center.  No previous experience necessary. Contact Coach McDougal if you have any questions.

Interested in playing golf for the PHN Boys Golf Team?  Please stop by Coach Whymer’s room, 203, this week for try-out information. 

There will be a brief meeting for anyone that is interested in playing JV girls tennis in the spring in room 106 at 2:30 on Monday March 7th. Contact Coach Leon in room 106 if you cannot make it.

Spring Sports Tryouts will be starting on March 13, 2023.  Look for the pink sheets in the hallway for more detailed information.  Remember you MUST have a physical form dated April 15, 2022 or later on file to tryout. Any questions? See Mrs. Taylor in the Athletic Office for more details.

For all athletes interested in running Track & Field in the spring, there will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, March 7th after school in the cafeteria. Practice will begin on Monday, March 13th after school.

All book club members, just a reminder that there is a book club meeting today after school in Mrs. Nisbett's room (311). Snacks will be provided, and we will be discussing the first half of the novel If I Stay by Gayle Forman. Hope to see you there!

There will be a baseball meeting after school on Thursday March 9th in room 207 to discuss try-out schedules.  If you can't make the meeting to see either Coach Roman or Coach Hamann.

Want to try a new board game with animals called Root? Then come to Table-Top Club today in room 312 after school from 2:30-4:00 pm. See Mrs. Zyrowski with any questions.

The annual Phil Willard Memorial Chess Tournament will be held at Port Huron High School on Saturday, March 4th from 8-1:00pm, with registration from 8 to 8:30am. This is a free tournament with prizes awarded in each grade. All skill levels are welcome, so come out to compete this Saturday.

The quiz bowl team hosted the final league matches at home last night.  The Varsity team finished in 1st place in the Blue Water Quiz Bowl league and went undefeated in league play.  Last night they had wins against Cros-Lex, Algonac, and Armada.  Congratulations to the team:  Paul Backlas, Nathan Sparschu, Shyan Lal, Ella Beck, Logan Wilcox, and Kevin Gao.  The varsity team will travel to Armada next week to compete in the Blue Water Quiz Bowl League tournament.  Wish them luck.

The JV team also had a winning night last night with wins against Capac, Armada, and Algonac,  Each team member contributed to their wins.  Team members include Ogden Eagen, Alex Paoletti, Peyton Mikolayek, and Jenn Stein.
